WAVERLY, Iowa - The Coe College track and field team concluded the regular-indoor season on Saturday at the Wartburg Invite, where the Kohawks had limited participation. The Kohawks showed well in the events they competed in, particularly the men's shot put and weight throw, where Joshua Seymour picked up two first-place finishes. Overall, the men took fourth place (39 points, 15 events) as the women landed in sixth place (24 points, 16 events). 
 
Seymour, who set the school record earlier this season, came up just short of his own record in the shot put but still took home the title, recording a toss of 15.74m, just .02m shy of the record. His solid day continued in the weight throw where he again took the title with a throw of 17.16m, a personal best by .12m. Alex Freiberger also showed well in the men's weight throw, taking third-place with a toss of 14.75, good for seventh-place in Coe's history. 
 
The Kohawk women had two second-place finishes, from seniors Carlyn Cole and Katalina Stai. Cole took second in the 200 dash while Stai placed second in the 1-mile run. Cole set a personal record in the 200 dash with a time of 26.27, .46 faster than her previous time. Stai also set a personal record in the 1-mile, posting a time of 5:23.21 over two seconds better than her previous best.

Fifth Place: Long Jump - Jackson Varney - 6.62m
First Place: Shot Put - Joshua Seymour - 15.74m
First Place: Weight Throw - Joshua Seymour - 17.16m
Third Place: Weight Throw - Alex Freiberger - 14.75m
 
TOP COE WOMEN'S FINISHERS:
Second Place: 200 Dash - Carlyn Cole - 26.27
Second Place: 1-Mile Run - Katalina Stai - 5:23.21
Fifth Place: Shot Put - Jaydyn Palmer - 12.00m 
 
Up next: The Kohawks wrap up their indoor season at the A-R-C Championships beginning on February 28 in Decorah, Iowa. The competition will run all day on the 28 and 29.
