Men’s Basketball to Host Warburg in Semi-Final of A-R-C Tournament on Thursday Night

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's basketball team, which had a bye in the opening round of the A-R-C postseason tournament will host Wartburg on Thursday evening at Kohawk Arena. The Kohawks, who ended the year on a four-game winning streak, enter the tournament fresh off their best season since the 2014-15 season. Coe has a 2-0 record against the Knights this season with a 94-92 victory in Cedar Rapids and a 79-63 victory on the road in Waverly. Wartburg, the number six-seed in the tournament, is coming off a first-round victory over Loras in Dubuque, where it shot 51.9 percent from the floor and 50.0. percent from downtown.
 
Coe boasts a roster full of upperclassmen, including six seniors four of which average at least 9.0 points per game for the Kohawks. Seniors Adam McDermott, Austin Roth, Josh Schmitt and Tommy Hook lead the offensive effort for Coe, combining for nearly 40 points per game. Overall, the Kohawks are the league's second-best defense, allowing just 72.5 points per game while holding teams to just 45.6 percent from the floor.
