3/9/2020 11:59:00 AM

WAVERLY, Iowa - The Coe College track and field team had four athletes compete at the Wartburg College "Last Chance" meet over the weekend as Katalina Stai, Tieranny Keahna, Joshua Seymour and Alex Freiberger all competed in the NCAA qualifier. Despite no Kohawks qualifying for the national indoor meet, it was a successful day for the competitors.

Stai set a new personal record in the 5000m with a time of 18:12.58, which is also a new school record. Keahna took eighth place in the weight throw with her third-best toss of the year, a throw of 15.90m. Seymour and Freiburger both showed well in the men's throwing events as Seymour posted a fifth-place finish in the weight throw with a chuck of 17.02m.

Up next: Track and Field will return to action the first week of April when it travels to Mount Vernon to compete in the Cornell College Meet to kick off the outdoor season.
