LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Coe College wrestling team picked up a pair of dual victories over nationally-ranked opponents on Saturday, defeating number two North Central College 29-17 in the opener while taking down number six Wisconsin La Crosse 30-13 in the afternoon match.
Alex Friddle opened the match against North Central with a bang, pinning his opponent in just 1:42 but the Cardinals won the next three matches to regain control of the dual.
AJ Patterson then picked up an important decision at 157 which kick started Coe as it went on to win four of the final five bouts to knock off North Central 29-17. The Kohawks started well in the second match, winning the first four bouts including a victory from freshman
Bryce Parke at 133 over tenth-ranked Sawyer Sarbacker. The Eagles picked up wins at 157 and 165 to slow Coe down but
Tristin Westphal, Ryan Schott and
Kaleb Reeves secured victories to lead the Kohawks to the victory.
