Brock Henderson Sets School Record for Tech Falls as #2 Wrestling Defeats Simpson & Nebraska Wesleyan

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The second-ranked Coe College wrestling team picked up a pair of American Rivers Conference dual victories on Thursday evening, defeating Simpson 46-4 while shutting out Nebraska Wesleyan 55-0. Senior 141-pounder Brock Henderson won both of his bouts while setting a new school record with his 29th-career tech fall victory in his second match against Christian Deherrera of Nebraska Wesleyan. The Kohawks scored bonus points in but one match during the duals, securing seven falls and five tech falls. The results improve Coe to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the A-R-C with just three duals remaining in the regular season. 
 
Coe started in match one against the Storm with three-straight victories, getting a forfeit at 125 before back-to-back wins from Anthony Gallagher and Henderson at 133 and 141. The Kohawks bounced back from their lone loss during the pair of duals at 149 with six-straight bonus-point victories to end the match. Mathieu Arsenault and Kaleb Reeves put the icing on the cake with back-to-back pins at 197 and 285.

The Kohawks continued to dominate in the second match of the evening, recording bonus points in every match. Alex Friddle started with a quick pin at 125 before three consecutive tech falls from Gallagher, Henderson and Dylan Falck. Brady Henderson and Will Esmoil kept it going with a pair of falls at 157 and 165 before a tech fall win from Tristin Westphal at 174. The match ended with falls from Ryan Schott and Reeves at 184 and 285 and a tech fall from Arsenault at 197.
