LA CROSSE, Wisc. - The #8 Coe College wrestling team dropped a pair of non-conference duals on Saturday, falling to #4 North Central 29-9 and #3 UW-La Crosse 28-11. The Kohawks fell behind quickly in the opening match of the day, dropping the opening seven bouts against North Central before Tristin Westphal and Jared Voss secured a pair of victories. The Cardinals completed the victory at heavyweight, as #7 Robby Bates claimed a narrow 6-5 victory over Mathieu Arsenault. Alex Friddle suffered just his second loss of the season in the dual. Falling to top-ranked Robbie Precin 4-1 in a closely contested contest. Coe got off to a better start in its second dual of the day, picking up back-to-back wins from Jaiden Moore and Alex Friddle, giving the Kohawks an early lead. UW-La Crosse answered with five-straight victories, flipping the score in its favor to take control of the dual. Westphal earned his second victory of the day to stop the run, picking up a sudden-victory win over #13 Kayln Jahn but the Eagles ended the dual with a pair of wins, including a major decision at 197. The losses drop Coe to 0-3 in duals on the season while North Central and UW-La Crosse move to 4-1 and 4-0 respectively.
