ORLANDO, FL. - The Coe College women's tennis team split a pair of matches on Sunday and Monday on the first two days of its spring break trip, falling 6-3 to St. Lawrence before snagging a 6-3 victory over Carthage on Monday. Coe had a solid start to its opening match, securing two of three singles matches against St. Lawrence but the Saints won five of six singles matches to pull out the victory. The Kohawks bounced back in their second match of the trip, winning 6-3 against Carthage on Monday. Coe again started well, grabbing two team points in doubles as the pairs Isabella Hoppenjans/Emma Lassen and Claudia Bilkey/Janie Lapray secured victories. The Kohawks went on to win four of six singles matches including victories from Hoppenjans, Lassen and Bilkey. The results move Coe to 9-4 on the season while St. Lawrence and Carthage move to 3-1 and 5-6 respectively.
