CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's tennis team cruised past Wartburg for a 5-0 victory in the opening round of the American Rivers Conference Automatic Qualifier Tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The Kohawks opened the match with a perfect showing in doubles, claiming victories at all three positions. Coe got a dominant effort from top pair Emma Lassen/Isabella Hoppenjans and a pair of tough victories at number two and three from Madison Schultz/Jania Carter-Johnson and Claudia Bilkey/Eliza Sundermann. The final two points of the match came from Lassen and Sundermann as the pair combined to earn the Kohawks the 5-0 victory. The victory advances the Kohawks into the semifinals of the A-R-C AQ Tournament where they will take on second-seeded Central College on Friday, April 29 at 4 PM.
