GRINNELL, Iowa - The Coe College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat to regionally-ranked Grinnell College on Saturday morning in the Kohawks final match of the regular season. Coe, which is the second seed in next week's A-R-C AQ Tournament, fought hard throughout the match despite the scoreline. Grinnell took an early lead despite Coe's best efforts, winning all three doubles matches to grab the momentum. The Pioneers went on to sweep singles competition, claiming all six matches in straight sets. The Kohawks again made things difficult on the Pioneers in singles, winning at least one game in all but three sets. With the loss, Coe ends the regular season with a 12-7 record while Grinnell improves to 13-7.
