Schnurr & Schmitt eclipse 20-point mark, Men’s Basketball cruises to 10th consecutive win over Luther

DECORAH, Iowa - The (RV) Coe College men's basketball team cruised to its 10th-straight win of the season on Wednesday evening, defeating Luther College 81-60 in the squad's first game of the New Year. The Kohawks dominated the opening half, using a late 14-2 run to take a double-digit advantage into the break. Luther fought back in the early moments of the second period, pulling within nine points just five minutes in. The Kohawks then ripped off an impressive 23-9 stretch during the next eight-plus minutes of action, pushing their lead to 23 which was too large a deficit for the hosts to overcome. TJ Schnurr and Cael Schmitt were once again the catalysts for the Kohawk offense, posting 22 and 20 points respectively to lead the way. Schnurr was 9-of-15 from the floor and added five boards while Schmitt was 7-of-16 with five assists and four boards. Josh Scloe was Coe's final player in double-figures, scoring 13 points for his fourth 10-plus point performance of the year.
