Men’s Basketball falls in road matchup at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Coe College men's basketball team suffered its first defeat of the 2024-25 season on Tuesday evening, falling 82-70 to Augustana College. The Kohawks fell behind quickly, spotting the Vikings a 7-0 lead in the opening 3:30 seconds. Coe settled back in but struggled to find stops on defense until later in the first half, outscoring the Vikings 16-9 to close the gap to five at the break. The Kohawks got within three points of the deficit early in the second half on back-to-back buckets from Cooper Nailor but Augustana regained control, using a 17-6 run before the midway mark to pull back ahead. Coe again closed the gap to single-digits with just over two minutes to play but the hosts converted free throws down the stretch and kept Coe from any easy buckets.
