ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Coe College men's track and field team started its outdoor competition season with a bang over the weekend at the WashU Distance Carnival & Invite on Friday and Saturday. Coe's team performance was highlighted by numerous point-scoring finishes, a dominant display in the throwing events and strong relay efforts. Individually,
Chris Baker stood out among his teammates, taking home the title in the discus and hammer to finish as Coe's highest point scorer. The Cedar Rapids native kicked off his junior outdoor campaign in style on Friday, recording a throw of 54.53m which is second all-time at Coe. On Saturday, the Linn-Mar product claimed the top spot in the discus with a chuck of 41.87m.
Lewis Kleman continued his impressive performances in 2023-24, opening his outdoor slate in the 10,000m with a time that moved him into second place in Coe's history books.
