DECORAH, Iowa - The Coe College baseball team dropped the series finale at Luther College on Saturday afternoon, falling 10-4 to the Norse. The Kohawks fell behind early in the rubber match, spotting the hosts three runs in the second inning. Luther added another in the third for a four-run lead but Coe answered back to tie the game in the top of the sixth. The Norse answered in the home half of the inning, scoring three runs to regain the advantage for good. Coe had 13 hits in the game but left 14 runners on base, failing to capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities.

- Coe had the first chance of the game with bases loaded in the second inning but a groundout ended the scoring threat. Luther capitalized and took the lead in the bottom of the second, scoring three runs on four hits. The hosts got another run in the third, extending the lead to four on a wild pitch from Coe. The Kohawks got back in it with runs in the fifth and sixth innings, opening their tally with an RBI double from Jake Brosius. Brosius drove home two more runs in the top of the sixth with an infield single, plating Kaden Haller and Austin Gomez. Reid Rausch tied the game in the following at-bat, delivering a two-out single to score Mitchell Eckardt. Luther got all three back in the home half of the inning, loading the bases with two outs before a hit-by-pitch and a two-run single. The Norse put the icing on the cake in the seventh, striking again with two outs as the hosts took a 10-4 lead with a three-run homer.
Up Next: The Kohawks return to the diamond tomorrow, Sunday, May 5 for their regular season finale against Wartburg College at Daniels Park at 3:30 PM.
