CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College baseball team won in its opening game of the 2024 American Rivers Conference tournament, defeating the Loras College Duhawks 6-4 at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Ryan Thoreson all picked up RBI via free passes before
Jack Allison delivered a one-run single to take a 4-2 lead. Coe added a key insurance run in the fifth as
Creighton Kreshel drove home
Tyce Johnson with a two-out single. Loras cut the lead to one in the sixth to put pressure on the Kohawks but a run in the sixth gave Coe's staff enough room to work with over the final three innings.
Caden Richards earned his sixth win of the campaign, allowing four runs in five innings of work.
Trevor Morse and
Drew Osterman combined to finish the job out of the pen, allowing just four hits while striking out four hitters.
