CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Coe College student athletes
Sophia Fain, Devyn Nabarrete and
Kamen Rangelov earned weekly honors from the American Rivers Conference Monday afternoon. The Kohawk trio were named the league's Female Athlete of the Week, Women's Swimming & Diving and Men's Swimming & Diving performers of the week respectively after some standout performances. Fain is winning her second consecutive honor to cap off an excellent fall season as she claimed the A-Singles title at the A-R-C Individual Championships for the second straight year. She also earned the silver medal in the A-Doubles flight with partner
Alice Tysoe, falling in an all Kohawk title match to
Addison Leasure and
Aisha Gurung. Nabarrete and Rangelov made headlines in the Coe Swimming & Diving's first meet of the 2025 season, each winning a pair of individual events while swimming a leg on a relay winning squad. Nabarrette picked up wins in 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke as well as swimming on the winning 200 Medley Relay team. Rangelov, last year's A-R-C Championship rookie of the meet, won the 50 Free and 100 Free and was on the 200 Medley Relay winning squad.
