ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Coe College men's track & field thrower
Chris Baker picked up the program's first indoor all-American honor in over 25 years Friday, placing ninth in the weight throw competition at the DIII Indoor Track & Field National Championships. Baker capped off his indoor season in style, recording the second and third best throws of his career at the national championships. His ninth-place mark was 18.65m, earning him a second team all-American honor. Baker's all-American efforts mark the first time since the 1999 championships that the men's program has earned the honor. The Cedar Rapids native will go again in the spring season, looking to earn a third consecutive trip to an NCAA DIII Championship after competing in the hammer throw in the outdoor championships in 2024.
