PELLA, Iowa – The Coe College baseball team picked up a pair of A-R-C victories Friday afternoon at Central, knocking off the Dutch 4-0 and 6-2 for its league wins of 2025. Coe's starting pitchers
Jack Walsh and
Ethan O'Donnell were the headlining performers on the day, allowing a combined eight hits and two earned runs across 17 innings of action. Walsh started in game one with a truly dominant performance with a complete-game, one-hit shutout. The sophomore from Dubuque allowed just two base runners while striking out four batters for his third win of the year.
Tyce Johnson, CJ Johnson and
Mitchell Eckardt were Coe's RBI getters in the game, backing up the career-best outing from Walsh. O'Donnell was nearly as good as his teammate in game two, going eight innings while allowing two runs on seven hits. The North Liberty native struck out five Dutch hitters and walked just one en route to his second win of the season. Coe's offense managed just six hits in game two but a clutch go-ahead three-run double in the seventh from
Ryan Thoreson was enough for the Kohawks to cling to.
