CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College baseball team is ranked 20th in this week's ABCA DIII Coaches Poll and 22nd in the D3baseball.com poll with both organizations releasing their most recent set of rankings on Tuesday. Coe is coming off a series victory over Loras in its final home games of the season and will head to Storm Lake for a clash of the league's top two teams, facing Buena Vista on Thursday and Friday. The Kohawks are one victory from clinching the A-R-C regular season title, sitting at 17-4 in conference play and 27-8 overall. Coe's offense has slowly started to find its groove, complementing one of the region's strongest pitching staff that features two pitchers ranked inside the top 50 in ERA. Jack Walsh ranks third in ERA a .98 while Ethan O'Donnell boasts an impressive 1.98 ERA, 41st in DIII. Walsh and O'Donnell head a staff that is first in shutouts, ninth in hits per nine and WHIP and 10th in ERA while the offense has jumped inside the top 200 in on base percentage. The Kohawks rank 23rd in the latest NCAA NPI rankings, currently updated with games played through April 27.
