GRINNELL, Iowa – The Coe College men's swimming & diving team was in action Friday and Saturday at the Grinnell College Invite, competing against top teams from across the region. Coe placed fifth as a team in the invitational, totaling 234 team points to finish middle of the pack and ahead of A-R-C foes Luther and Simpson. The Kohawks were led by
Kamen Rangelov in the solo events, picking up a first-place finish in the 200 Breast and second-place efforts in the 100 IM and 100 Breast. Rangelov also added a seventh-place performance in the 50 Free, rounding out his point-scoring efforts for the Kohawks.
Maxwell Deacon had Coe's other top individual performance in the 200 Fly, finishing 12th overall. In the relays, Coe had four top-10 finishes, including a seventh-place effort in the 200 Medley from
Edmund Hamann, Kamen Rangelov, Peyton Riggins and
Maxwell Deacon. Kamen Rangelov, Reilly Espinosa, Edmund Hamann, Maxwell Deacon were just behind with an eighth-place performance in the 400 Free Relay.
Reilly Espinosa, Isaiah Lawshe, Joshua Yi and
Jacob Crosland made it three top-10 efforts with a ninth-place finish in the 800 Free while
Kamen Rangelov, Maxwell Deacon, Edmund Hamann and
Peyton Riggins placed 10th in the 200 Free Relay.
