CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Coe College men's basketball player
Cooper Nailor became the first Kohawk since 1996 to earn All-American honors Wednesday, being named third-team all-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Nailor is just the fourth performance-based all-American in Coe men's basketball history, joining
Chris Wieh (1996), Ed McFalls (197) and
Al Pursell (1957). The Indianola native was a crucial piece of Coe's offensive and defensive units, leading the Kohawks in scoring, assists and steals while finishing second in rebounds. Nailor had eight 20-point performances on the year and posted back-to-back 30-point efforts with a career-high 38 against Dubuque and 30 against Central. The senior guard also had a steal in every game but one and recorded five four-plus steal performances on the defensive end.
