Known affectionately as "Papa Stake," retired Head Football Coach Steve Staker had an incredible gift for bringing out the best in everyone. He was a role model, mentor and friend for many student-athletes over his 50 years of coaching and teaching and left a lasting impact on the Coe community. Countless alumni have shared stories about how much they learned from Coach Staker and how he inspired and motivated them to be better people. He made the world a better place and the new scoreboard at Clark Field will stand as a testament to Steve's legacy here at Coe and as a lasting reminder of his success on and off the field. We are excited about this much-needed addition to our football program, and with your help, we are privileged to honor Coach Staker's memory in this visible way.
