Ashlee (Simon) Rush came to Coe in the fall of 2008 and left as the 2^nd leading strikeout pitcher in DIII history with 1,243.  As a freshman, Ashlee was the starting pitching in the NCAA DIII National Championship game vs. Messiah College.  During her 4 years at Coe, Ashlee garnered many awards and honors including:

• NFCA All-American
• 4x All-Region
• 4x All-Conference
• 1x Conference Pitcher of the Year
• 12x Conference Pitcher of the Week
• National Co-Player of the Week by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (April 2011)

She was also a multi-year All-State high school player and pitched Highland High School to the A State Championship in 2007.

Ashlee is entering her 6^th year as a 3^rd grade teacher at Viola Gibson Elementary and lives in Marion, IA with her husband, Clayton, and 3 daughters.
