Carton, a 3x high school state champion 4x finalist graduated from Davenport Assumption High School with an overall record of 175-2.
After high school, Carton went on to wrestle at the University of Iowa where he was a four-year letter winner for the Hawkeyes and an NCAA DI national qualifier at 141lbs. He was a 2x FILA JR Freestyle All-American finishing 5th and 2nd place. Carton graduated in 2017 with a BS in Sport and Recreation management and a BA in Business Studies and Entrepreneurship.
Carton entered his coaching career as an assistant coach at Oak Park River Forest High School in Illinois. In 2018 he moved on to The University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. There, he served as an assistant coach under Adam Aho while working on completing his masters degree in Physical Education and Athletic Administration.
Carton recently returned to Iowa to take over as Director of the Eastern Iowa Wrestling Club. He currently lives in Cedar Rapids with his partner Kelsie and their dog Rhea.
