Amanda Owens joined the Coe College Track and Field coaching staff as a throwers coach in the fall of 2020. Owens, who served as an assistant coach for the Kohawks from 2012-2014 was a standout thrower at the University of Nebraska where she earned all-conference honors in the Big-12.
Amanda holds a bachelor's degree in science and education from Nebraska and a diploma in therapeutic massage from Herzing University. Her coaching experiences include stints at Lincoln area high schools where she served as a volunteer throwing coach. Following her graduation from Nebraska, Owens was the throwers coach at Nebraska City High School just before coming to Coe for the first time.
While at Coe, Owens helped coach Melissa Alger, who finished her career as a two-time All-American and a Barron Bremner Outstanding Athlete Award winner.
