Eric Rodgers

Eric Rodgers begins his 37th year as head coach of the Coe men's tennis program in the Fall of 2025. Rodgers came to Coe in the fall of 1989 as the Director of the Clark Racquet Center and head tennis coach of the men's and women's teams. He remained head coach of both squads until the summer of 2014. 

Rodgers has led 17 Coe men's teams to regular season conference championships and 13 conference tournament championships. He has coached over 145 all-conference players and 12 conference MVPs with Johnny Watson, Ryan Yao, Tom Jennings, Greg Janssen, Noah Sprinkel (2x), Brady Anderson (3x) and Rami Hemaidan (3x) earning the honors. Coach Rodgers coached the first-ever conference Rookie of the Year in the 2024-25 season as Joshua Tieman took home the inaugural award. 

Before coming to Cedar Rapids, Rodgers led the tennis program for four years at the University of Evansville, an NCAA Division I School. His teams captured two Midwestern Collegiate Conference titles.

Rodgers is a 1979 graduate of Kalamazoo College in Michigan where he was a four-year letterman, captain, and played on two NCAA championship squads for legendary coach George Acker.

Rodgers is married to Coe Triathlon coach Kris Tiedt and has one stepdaughter, Emmie. In his spare time he enjoys camping, hiking, walking dogs, and the Cincinnati Reds.
