Trevor McConnell is a dynamic and highly skilled football coach with a strong background in coaching, recruiting, and media management. Currently serving as the Wide Receivers Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, and Video Coordinator at Coe College, Trevor has quickly established himself as a versatile and effective coach with a keen eye for player development and a passion for building successful football programs.
Trevor’s coaching experience spans several key roles, and he has proven himself in a variety of capacities. At Coe College, he has helped lead the team to impressive offensive success, with 37 points per game, 2,310 team passing yards, and a number of standout individual performances, including an All-Conference Wide Receiver, an All-Conference Returner, and 19 total receiving touchdowns across six different players. His responsibilities include conducting individual drills for wide receivers, coordinating routes on air and 7v7 offense, and contributing to game planning, specifically in pass game and RPO sets and schemes.
As the Recruiting Coordinator at Coe College, Trevor has demonstrated a strong ability to connect with prospects across the country. He has been responsible for national recruiting, covering key areas including California, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Texas, and more. His recruiting efforts have contributed to the acquisition of standout athletes, including a number of All-Conference and All-American players. Trevor also manages the logistics of recruiting visits, schedules, and campus visits, working in tandem with admissions and professors to ensure a seamless experience for recruits.
In addition to coaching and recruiting, Trevor has made significant contributions as the team’s Video Coordinator. He oversees practice filming, self-scouting, opponent scouting, and the creation of highlight reels, team media content, and social media graphics. His expertise in video production and media management has played a critical role in enhancing the team’s recruiting efforts and overall presence.
Before joining Coe College, Trevor served at Valparaiso University as the Running Backs Coach and Special Teams Assistant, where he worked with offensive players, organized scout teams, and assisted in coaching all offensive positions. He also helped with national recruiting and played an integral role in the transition of offensive coordinators. At Valpo, Trevor’s responsibilities expanded to include film breakdowns, managing team media, and assisting with the creation of the offensive playbook.
Trevor’s coaching journey began as a student-athlete at Ohio Northern University, where he excelled as a five-year quarterback and was a captain of the team. He was also a key member of the football team leadership committee and involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Trevor’s leadership and recruiting skills were developed through his work as the Director of Multi-Media and Recruiting Assistant, where he helped manage social media content and created recruiting strategies for the Ohio Northern Football team.
