INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Coe College volleyball team returned to conference play with a 3-0 sweep of Simpson College on Friday night. The Kohawks had played five straight non-conference games since their last conference game back on September 24. Coe moves to 2-1 in conference play and 11-12 overall.

In the opening set the Kohawks and Storm went point for point early. The Kohawks seized control with an 8-1 run the included three service aces to go in front 18-7. Coe got a second big run in the set as Majda Suljic served eight straight on an 8-0 run as the Kohawks took the first set 25-16.

The Storm got the first point in the second set but it was all Kohawks from there as they put together a 7-0 run. Coe would never trail again as they took the second set 25-13.

In the final set Sydney Steffen came in to serve six straight on a 6-0 run as Coe finished strong taking the third and final set 25-14.

The Kohawks spread the ball around as Elli Teeple dished out 33 assists to five different hitters. Kate Tidman led the attack with 12 kills while Madi Parson and Morgan Kluesner added seven apiece. Suljic had 15 digs to lead the defense with Parson and Kluesner adding nine each. Bryce Klein was a force at the net with four blocks. 
 
Next Up: The Kohawks will continue the conference schedule tomorrow, October 12, when they visit Central at 2:30 p.m.
