WAVERLY, Iowa - The Coe College volleyball team fell 3-1 to Wartburg on Wednesday evening. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Kohawks and drops them to 12-13 overall and 3-2 in the A-R-C while the Knights improve to 18-7 overall and 6-0 in the A-R-C.
Kate Tidman led Coe with 15 kills and
Elli Teeple dished out 36 assists to pace the team.
Madi Parson recorded her 15th double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs.

Wartburg came out hot in the opening set, taking an early 7-1 lead but Coe responded well to keep it close. Trailing 19-15, the Kohawks strung together four-straight points including two kills for Parson
. The Knights then scored back-to-back points to regain a two-point lead which they would hold for the remainder of the set, winning 25-23.

Coe bounced right back in set number two, picking up a 25-23 victory to tie the match at one. The Kohawks jumped out to a 6-2 lead but Wartburg fought back to take a 19-18 lead. Coe then ripped off four-consecutive points to regain control of the set and even the match.

The Knights went on to win set three and four 25-15 and 25-19 respectively to knock off Coe and remain undefeated in the conference. Coe battled in both sets but Wartburg proved to be too strong on their home floor for the Kohawks to knock off.Â

Next Up: The Kohawks return home to Cedar Rapids to host the Kohawk Invite which features matchups against Illinois Wesleyan (10/18), Millikin (10/18), St. Thomas (10/19) and Martin Luther (10/19). Game times are 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
