CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Coe College has announced the hire of Randy Dodge as the inaugural head coach of the women's bowling team and the men's club bowling team. The women's team is set to begin varsity competition in the fall of 2020. Randy, a USBC Silver level certified coach and a Dick Ritger level coach will be tasked with recruiting prior to competition beginning next fall. 
 
Randy joins Coe after a two-year coaching stint at Hawkeye Community College, where he helped launch the new program. He also has coaching experience at the high school level, helping start a team at North Bend Central in North Bend, Neb. and leading it to six-straight state titles from 2014-2019. He also served as the Head Coach at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb. for one year on a volunteer basis. 
 
Dodge found his love for bowling when he began working at a bowling center at the age of 14 chasing pins. He then became a manager at a bowling center for eight years prior to purchasing the bowling center in North Bend, Neb., which he owned for 12 years until 2018. He then took the head coaching position at Hawkeye Community College, beginning in the fall of 2018 where he was in charge for two years. 
 
Dodge was a key member of the bowling community throughout the state of Nebraska, serving on the Nebraska Youth Bowling Board Member for four years prior to becoming Chairman of the youth board in 2010, a position he held until 2018. He was also the Nebraska Bowling Proprietors Association President for three years from 2014-16 where he helped advance bowling centers throughout Nebraska. Dodge was named the Nebraska Bowling Proprietor of the Year in 2014 for his efforts. Was inducted into the Nebraska Bowling Hall of Fame in 2019. Dodge started and ran the Nebraska Bowling Youth Tour from 2015-2019 which included participants from five different states.
