Mount Vernon, Iowa - Coe traveled to Cornell College early Wednesday night for non-conference contest. The Kohawks got down early and fell 2-1 to the Rams. The Rams win gives Cornell a Bremner Cup point evening this years competition two points each.
Cornell got out to a two goal lead in the first half as they got goals from Sofia Schnur in the 24th minute and Ashley Quesada in the 39th minute. Cornell controlled the half as they had six shots to Coe's two.
Alex Montalbano prevented in more damage with three saves in the half.
The Kohawks turned things around in the second half putting the pressure on the Rams with eight shots while holding Cornell to three. The Kohawks broke through in the 71st minute when leading scorer,
Amanda Hiebert found the back of the net for the seventh time this year. The comeback ended their as Coe didn't have another shot the rest of the way.
The lose drops the Kohawks to 5-3-1 as they head into conference play on Saturday, September 28th, at Loras College. Kickoff is set for 3:30 in Dubuque.
