Box Score INDIANOLA Iowa – The Coe College men's basketball team picked up a 80-60 win over the Storm on the road Wednesday night. The Kohawks used a run late in the first half to jump out to a double-digit lead at halftime and a fast start in the second half to seize complete control of the game. Coe shot 50 percent from the floor while holding Simpson to just 32.4 percent.  
 
Austin Roth led all scorers with 25 points connecting on five of six 3 pointer attempts. Tommy Hook added 19 points on six of nine shooting and Adam McDermott went three of five from 3 as he scored 13. Jacob Robertson led the Kohawks with eight rebounds and Josh Schmitt had a team high five assists. 
 
The Kohawks and Storm got off to a slow start as the teams were tied at five three minutes into the game. The teams went back and forth from there before Coe seized control. Leading 17-13 with just under 11 minutes left in the half the Kohawks went on a 18-5 run. Ray Thrapp's jump shot started the run before Hook scored five straight to push the lead to 12. Roth capped the run with a 3 and jumper of his own. Simpson scored the final three points in the final minute of the half to cut the Coe lead to 38-26 at halftime. 
 
Coe started the second half hot as they quickly extended their lead. Robertson got things going early in the half with a jumper. Roth then scored five straight before a McDermott 3 pushed the lead to 17. The Kohawk bench kept things going as Thrapp and Jared Kruse each came in and knocked down a pair of free throws stretching the lead to 20 with just over 12 minutes to play. 
 
Simpson fought back but could never get the Coe lead under 13 as the Kohawks stayed hot from 3. Hook highlighted the defensive effort with back-to-back steals as Coe would see the lead grow to as big as 25 with 3:26 to play.  
 
Up next:  Coe is back in action on Saturday as they return to Kohawk Arena to host Buena Vista at 4:00 p.m. The Kohawks will honor their six seniors before the game.
