STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Coe College volleyball team swept Buena Vista University on Friday evening to extend its winning streak to four games while remaining undefeated in American Rivers Conference play. The Kohawks cruised to a three-set victory downing the Beavers 25-19, 25-19 and 25-22 to earn their fourth league victory over the season.

Grace Lueken led the offensive charge for Coe, recording 13 and 11 kills respectively while the team posted 10 total service aces. The victory moves the Kohawks to 16-6 overall and 4-0 in the league while Buena Vista drops to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in the A-R-C.

- Coe opened an early lead in the first set, jumping ahead 8-3 before Buena Vista fought back to make it 10-7. The squads then traded points for a short stretch until the Kohawks ripped off four consecutive points to regain a healthy 19-13 advantage. The squad managed to see out the remainder of the frame, using a three-point and two-point scoring stretch to take a 1-0 lead.
- Again, in set two the Kohawks opened up an early lead, racing out to a 13-7 advantage to put pressure on the Beavers. BVU continued to fight and got within five at 16-11 but five straight points for Coe gave it enough insurance to hang on for a 2-0 advantage.
- Buena Vista responded immediately in the third set, taking a 10-3 advantage in the frame while pushing the lead to 15-8. Coe refused to go away, chipping at the lead overtime to get within two points after back-to-back kills from Gracie Urbatsch. Down two points, the Kohawks scored five consecutive points and took their first lead in the set since a 1-0 at the onset. Following a service error, the Kohawks scored the final two points of the match on a kill from Madi Parson and a service ace from Majda Suljic.
Up next: Coe will continue its two-game road trip tomorrow evening with another A-R-C matchup at Nebraska Wesleyan with the match scheduled for 5:30 PM.
