CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The #12 Coe College volleyball team earned a share of the A-R-C Conference Championship with a 3-1 victory over #15 Loras College on Saturday afternoon. The Kohawks, who secured their first conference title since 2014, won the opening set 25-22 before the Duhawks evened up the score in set two, winning 28-26. Coe would take the final two sets of the match to secure the win, dominating set three 25-14 while winning 25-22 in set four. The victory is the Kohawks sixth-straight of the season as they end the year 7-1 overall and in the A-R-C.

Majda Suljic stood out for Coe, posting a season-high 41 digs, destroying her previous season-high of 26.
Elli Teeple had 45 assists in the match while adding a team-high five service aces. The Kohawks were led by a trio of attackers in
Kate Tidman, Morgan Kluesner and
Madi Parson who all finished with double-digit kills in the match. Tidman posted 20 kills on the afternoon, attacking at a clip of .327 while committing just four errors. She also added 17 digs in the match, recording her third-straight double-double and fourth overall. Kluesner posted a season-high 12 kills while notching her first double-double of the season with 11 digs. She also added two solo blocks, two block assists and one service ace.
The Kohawks got off to a solid start in the match, winning the opening set 25-22 while holding the Duhawks to just six kills. Coe recorded five service aces in the set with Teeple tallying four and Tidman posting one. Loras, which trailed by as many as four in the opening set, made a comeback attempt but three-straight points for Coe secured the 1-0 lead.
Loras opened the second set hot, taking an early 7-3 in the second set but Coe refused to go away. The Kohawks fought all the way back to tie the score at 14-14 thanks to three consecutive points. The teams would then trade points with neither team taking a two-point lead until the Duhawks scored two-straight to even the score.
Coe then won two-straight to secure the victory, winning set three 25-14 and set four 25-22. The squads exchanged points in the opening moments of the set but the Kohawks opened a 17-10 lead to take control. The Duhakws continued to fight down the stretch but Coe limited its errors to secure the 2-1 advantage. Loras again took an early lead in the final set but the Kohawks stormed back from down three points to tie the game. The squads traded points all the way until Coe scored three-straight, taking a 21-17 lead thanks to back-to-back kills from Tidman. Loras would score five of the next six points to put a scare into the Kohawks but three consecutive points for Coach Akins' squad locked up the victory.
