Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Central Gets Past Men’s Soccer on Saturday

PELLA, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team kept a clean sheet in the first half but surrendered three goals in the second half to Central in its A-R-C opener on Saturday. The Kohawks (0-1, 0-1) played solid defense in the opening half, holding the Dutch (1-0, 1-0) to just one shot in the half while tallying one of their own. Central broke through early in the second half with a goal in the 48th minute which proved enough to lock up the win.

The teams traded shots in the first half but neither found the mark with the best chance coming for Coe's Colton Wever, who tested the Central keeper late in the half. The Dutch took the lead early in the second half on a goal from Nathan Casas, who scored in the 48th minute. 10 minutes later Central added to its lead with another goal from Casas which came after a bright period for Coe which featured three shots. The third goal came in the 74th minute off the boot of Zach Worster, ending the scoring for the evening.

Up next: Coe will remain on the road for its next game as it heads to Lincoln on Tuesday for an A-R-C matchup with Nebraska Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m.
