Men’s Tennis Dominates NWU on the Road

LINCOLN, Nebraska – The Coe College Men's Tennis team swept Nebraska Wesleyan University 9-0 in their first outdoor match of the year. The Kohawks improve to 10-0 (4-0 A-R-C) on the year while the Prairie Wolves drop to 1-2 (1-2 A-R-C).
 
The Kohawks captured a 3-0 lead after doubles picking up decisive wins at all three spots. Jordan Oaks/Jack Cook secured the first point for the Kohawks with a quick 8-1 win at number three. Shortly behind was Jon Lansing/Nathan Meskell recording an 8-1 win at number two, and Rami Hemaidan/Bo Wilson completed the sweep winning 8-2 at number one.
 
Oaks kicked off singles play wasting no time and recording a 6-0, 6-0 win at number five. Hemaidan clinched the meet and keeps his hot streak going with a 6-0, 6-3 at number one, while Lansing took a 6-3, 6-1 win at the number two spot. Cook fought through the gusts of wind to give the Kohawks their seventh point grabbing a 7-6, 2-6, 10-7 win at number six. Wilson and Meskell finished the sweep on the day taking 6-0, 6-2 & 6-4, 6-2 wins at their respective four and three spots.
 
"This was a good day to be outside and become comfortable with uncomfortable climate conditions," said Head Coach Eric Rodgers.
