CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College Athletic Hall of Fame Committee announced the three former Kohawk athletes it will welcome to the club in 2021 earlier this week. The 2021 class includes Clayton Rush '11 (Wrestling), Molly Fiala Garber '10 (Women's Tennis) and Tyler Burkle '10 (Wrestling). All three athletes in the class of 2021 made appearances at their respective NCAA Tournaments while cementing their names amongst the greats of Coe Athletics.

Clayton Rush racked up the awards during his Coe College career becoming the first Kohawk to earn All-American status four times. Rush began his impressive campaign in 2008, finishing as the National Runner-Up as a freshman in the 125-pound weight class. He followed up with another all-American honor in his sophomore season, finishing fifth place at the National Championships.

The two-time Barron Bremner Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year capped off a terrific career with back-to-back national titles in 2010 and 2011 to become Coe's first two-time national champion. Rush, who compiled a record of 129-11, is fourth all-time on the Kohawks career wins list. He is also first all-time in career major decisions and career technical falls, third in single-season major decisions, 12th in single-season wins and 21st in career falls.

Molly Fiala Garber etched her name into the women's tennis record books during her time at Coe, while becoming the program's first all-American in 2007 and again in 2009. Molly, who owns the career record for singles wins with 90, was a four-time conference MVP and the Barron Bremner Outstanding Female Athlete in 2008 and a finalist in 2006 and 2007.

Her first all-American honor came in 2007 after she finished seventh at the ITA Singles Championships before Molly and doubles partner, Andrea Schupbach, earned the honor after a fourth-place finish at the ITA Doubles Championships. Fiala Garber is fifth all time in single-season wins, third in single-season double wins, second in career doubles wins, and fourth all time in career doubles wins and career total wins.

Tyler Burkle was the Coe Wrestling program's first national champion and undefeated wrestler. He achieved the feat as a sophomore in 2008, posting a 36-0 overall. Burkle, who is fifth all-time in career wins with 125, also earned all-American status in 2009 and 2010 with a pair of third place finishes at the National Championships. Tyler, who also was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2008 and 2010, is fifth all-time in single-season wins with 37.

He finished his career with a record of 125-18, ranking third all-time in career falls with 42 and third in technical falls with 18. The two-time Iowa Conference Champion (2008 & 2010) was named the Barron Bremner Outstanding Male Athlete in 2008 after his unbeaten season.
These three inductees from the 2021 class and the five inductees from 2020, Brian Collier '98 (Track & Field, Football), Beth Rohlena Boettcher '05 (Softball), Alison Rohdy '00 (Softball), Roger Schlegel '72- '81 (Coach) and Shane Staker '00 (Baseball, Football), will all be honored at the annual Hall of Fame Program and Dinner during homecoming this October.
