CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team took down Ripon College 5-0 on Sunday afternoon at Clark Field. The Kohawks got on the board in the 35th minute thanks to Alisan Hoffman and added to their lead in the second half. Hoffman netted her second of the afternoon in the 48th minute while Amanda Hiebert added three more goals in the period. The victory, which is the first of the year for Coe, moves to 1-1-1.

Match Facts

• Coe recorded five shots in the opening 15 minutes of play, forcing the Ripon keeper into two important saves. 
• The Kohawks broke through in the 35th minute as Hoffman fought for a lobbed pass from Brynne Sandfort and finished past the Redhawk goalie for her first career goal. 
• Hoffman scored her second goal early in the second half, pouncing on a flicked header from Hiebert who got on the end of Jordan Rosas corner kick. 
• The Kohawks quickly made it 3-0 as Hiebert got in on the scoring, burying a low-driven shot in the bottom left corner. Sandfort, who played a nice pass to Hiebert in the box, picked up her second assist of the match. 
• Hiebert then made it 4-0, placing a lobbed header over the Ripon keeper after Carley Balachio delivered an excellent set-piece. 
• Coe ended the scoring late in the second period as Hiebert completed the hat trick with an excellent individual effort where she dribbled through numerous Ripon defenders and blasted a shot past the keeper.  

Up next: Coe will be back in action on Wednesday, September 8 when it travels to Grinnell to take on the Pioneers at 5 p.m.
