WAVERLY, Iowa - The #23 Coe College volleyball team swept (RV) Wartburg College on Wednesday evening at Levick Arena, improving to 5-0 in American Rivers Conference action. The Kohawks were dominant throughout the match on offense and defense, hitting .311 overall while holding the Knights to just .128. Coe held Wartburg to 17, 16 and 18 points in the three set-match, cruising to its 18th victory of the 2022 season. The Kohawks were led by
Kate Tidman, who recorded 14 kills with a .462 attack percentage. The senior pin hitter committed just two errors in 26 attempts and added 14 digs for the double-double. Freshman duo
Ella Koloc and
Maddy Maahs turned in solid efforts for Coe, recording 19 digs and 34 assists as the specialists. The victory improves Coe to 18-4 overall and 5-0 in the A-R-C while Wartburg falls to 13-7 and 5-1 in the league.

- The Kohawks raced out to an early lead in the opening set, grabbing a 10-4 advantage. The visitors staved off a run from the hosts, stretching their lead back to six after Wartburg sliced the lead to four. Coe cruised to victory in the opener with a dominant stretch, ending the period on an 11-7 run. Madi Parson had five kills in the set while Tidman and Grace Lueken added three each.
- Wartburg battled in the second set, keeping it close in the early portion of the period. Coe took control after a timeout, ripping off an 11-5 run to secure a 25-16 win and a 2-0 lead in the match. Tidman and Lueken dominated the set, recording five kills each while hitting .833.
- The Knights showed life in the final set, taking a 6-4 lead initially but a five-point run for Coe forced a timeout from the hosts. The visitors continued to stretch their lead during the next few rallies, taking an 18-13 lead after back-to-back kills from Tidman. Coe kept its foot on the gas pedal following another Wartburg timeout, ending the match on a 7-4 run to lock up the sweep.
