CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday afternoon, falling 7-2 to Luther College at Clark Racquet Center. The Kohawks first loss of 2022 came in their final A-R-C match as the Norse dominated singles and doubles for the win. Coe fell behind quickly, dropping two of three doubles matches before the visitors won five singles matches. Madison Schultz and Jania Carter-Johnson claimed Coe's lone doubles victory and stayed perfect in A-R-C play, earning an 8-3 decision at the top position. Schultz also remained undefeated for the day and the conference season with a singles victory, defeating Luther's number one 6-1, 6-0. Despite dropping her singles match, Claudia Bilkey ended the league season with a 7-1 mark in singles. The loss drops Coe to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in the A-R-C while Luther improves to 7-1 and 5-0 in the league.
