CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The #8 Coe College wrestling team suffered a 24-16 defeat to Central in its first dual of the 2022-23 season on Thursday evening. Central set the tone early, picking up a narrow 2-1 victory at 125 before Coe tied the match on an
Alex Friddle victory at 133, where he defeated #12 Brock Beck. The Dutch answered at 141, getting the first bonus points of the night on a fall in the third period.
Riley Wright picked up Coe's second win of the evening at 149, pulling Coe back within striking distance with a 3-1 decision over #4 Robert Areyano. The visitors had an answer once again, slowing Coe's momentum with another narrow 3-1 decision at 157, extending their advantage once again.
