CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Coe College wrestling team sits in a tie for 11th place after one day and two sessions of the 2026 NCAA DIII Wrestling Championships after a strong showing Friday. The Kohawks were led by sophomore
Brayden Parke, who booked his place in the national semifinals with a pair of ranked victories as the Marion native won 9-6 over sixth-seeded Matt Griffin of TCNJ before a dominant major decision over third-seeded Alex Diaz, who was 29-0 entering the tournament. Parke is slotted to face seventh-seeded Mason Jones of Manchester University tomorrow morning for a chance to reach the national title bout.
Bo Koedam joined Parke with the team's second all-American honor Friday evening, fighting back from a narrow 4-1 defeat in the opening round with an 11-1 major in the opening blood round before an 8-1 decision over second-seeded Cooper Willis of Augsburg.
Jean Ngoma and
Wyatt Smith did their part on Friday to contribute to the overall team score for the Kohawks, each picking up at least one victory with Smith claiming a pair of wins. Coe totaled 24 team points Friday across the two sessions and with two wrestlers still alive will look to improve on its current T11 standings.
