CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College men's wrestling team was voted to finish second in the A-R-C pre-season coaches poll behind last year's conference champions Wartburg. The Kohawks earned 39 points in the vote, tied with Central. Coming off a fourth-place finish last season, Coe returns five all-conference wrestlers:
Brayden Parke, Bo Koedam, Dresden Grimm, Jean Ngoma, and
Wyatt Smith.
Parke at 125 and
Koedam at 165 pounds also achieved All-American status at the national tournament finishing second and seventh respectively. This season's roster, the Kohawks return plenty of wrestlers who were included in duals last season, including
Gavin Jensen, Ty Koedam, Kael Kurtz, Liam McLaughlin, Brody Neighbor, and
Nolen Yeary.
The Kohawks begin the 2026/27 season off on the road in Decorah for the Luther College Open (11/14), before opening up the A-R-C conference schedule with Central (11/19) at home. Coe hosts the Coe College invite (11/21) and then returns to action after the holiday breaks with a road dual with Buena Vista (12/2). The Kohawks finish with one more tournament away in Naperville before the NWCA National Duals, as they compete in the North Central Invite (12/12). Finally, the first half of the season ends with the NWCA National Duals (1/8) in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the UNI-Dome.
The second half of the season opens with another tournament in Mount Vernon, as Coe competes in the Matman Invite (1/16) the week before hosting the A-R-C Duals (1/23) in Cedar Rapids. The Kohawks make the short trip to Dubuque for a matchup against University of Dubuque (1/29), and then the Duhawk Open (1/30) the very next day. Coe will have two big tests at the end of the regular season as they host the Wartburg College Knights (2/5), the favorites to win the conference, and then a rivalry is renewed once again against Cornell (2/10) in Mount Vernon. The NCAA Regional Championships (2/26 - 2/27), and NCAA National Championships (3/12 - 3/13), which will be hosted in La Crosse, Wisc. round out the end of the wrestling season.
