DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Coe College women's basketball team fell 77-43 to Loras College in the opening round of the American Rivers Conference Tournament on Tuesday evening. Coe and Loras went back and forth in the opening quarter, however, a late run from the hosts gave the Duhawks a seven-point lead after 10 minutes. Loras then dominated the second and third quarters, outscoring Coe 22-11 and 25-11 to grab control of the contest. With the loss, Coe ends the season 8-18 overall and 5-11 in the American Rivers Conference.
Freshman guard
Elle Walker led the team with 16 points, shooting 6-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. The Phoenix native played 20 minutes for the Kohawks and added one steal, one block and one board. Fellow freshman
Ellie Wisner finished with six points in the game, chipping in with a pair of steals and assists while playing 23 minutes.
Alyse Southard played a team-high 27 minutes for Coe, posting five points, two boards and one steal while hitting one of her four long-distance attempts.

Game Facts
- The squads traded buckets in the opening three minutes of the game as Walker and Molly Buck each hit a jumper in the early moments. Loras put together a strong end to the frame, outscoring Coe 11-4 in the final six-plus minutes of the frame to grab a 16-9 lead.
- Loras quickly extended the advantage in the first 2:41 of the second quarter, shooting 4-of-5 from the floor and 1-of-1 from the line. Southard put a temporary stop on the run for the Kohawks, hitting a 3 at the 6:11 mark but Loras again dominated the final moments of the half. The Duhawks put together a 13-4 run to close the quarter as Hannah Thiele scored six points during the stretch.
- Loras remained hot on offense after the half, ripping off a 14-6 run in the first three-plus minutes of the period. Coe continued to battle despite its largest deficit of the game, getting a 3 from Walker to slowly stop the run. The Duhawks put the game out of reach before the end of the third quarter, ripping off an 8-2 stretch to push their lead past 30.
