CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Reid Rausch hit a game-winning three-run home run on Sunday afternoon as the Coe College baseball team picked up a dramatic 8-7 victory over Central College at Daniels Park. The Kohawks trailed for a majority of the game, but two runs in the eighth and three in the ninth secured the comeback victory for Coe. Rausch, who was a single shy of hitting for the cycle, is now hitting .355 on the season. The sweep improves the Koahwks to 13-10 overall and 8-4 in the A-R-C while Central falls to 10-12 on the year and 1-11 in the league.

Game Facts
- Central jumped ahead early in the game, scoring two runs in the first inning and one in the second. Coe committed errors in both innings, allowing a pair of unearned runs to score as it fell behind 3-0. The visitors added another run in the top of the fourth, getting an RBI single with two outs to push their lead to four.
- The Kohawk bats then came to life in the bottom of the inning, getting two runs on two hits while taking advantage of one Dutch error. Mitchell Eckardt singled to start the inning and swiftly moved to second on a stolen base. Rausch then produced his first key hit of the day, tripling to right field while driving in Eckardt. The second run of the inning came come on an error from Central as Creighton Kreshel reached, allowing Rausch to score unearned.
- Coe continued its climb back in the sixth, getting one run on one hit. Jacob Brosius double to lead off the inning before moving to third on a groundout. Rausch then walked to make it first and third which the Kohawks took advantage of with a double steal, making it 4-3 after six.
- The Dutch answered in the seventh, extending their lead with a two-out homer. Coe refused to go away despite the four-run deficit, threatening immediately in the bottom of the inning but back-to-back strikeouts ended the chance.
- The Kohawks comeback started in the bottom of the eighth, scoring two runs on one hit. Central issued a pair of free passes to start the inning prior to Kreshel's sacrifice bunt to put runners on second and third. Tyler Elliott drove home the first run of the frame in the next at-bat, recording a sacrifice fly to center as TJ Johnson scored from third. Jack Allison was then called upon to pinch hit in a clutch spot and the sophomore came up clutch with an RBI single to score Rausch.
- Tyce Johnson then worked a near-perfect ninth inning, setting up the offense with one final chance to make a splash. Eckardt walked with one out and was immediately joined by Brosius who was hit by a pitch. Rausch delivered the game-winning hit two batters later, smashing a three-run homer to right field to clinch the game for Coe.
Up next: Coe returns to the diamond on Tuesday for a midweek matchup with Luther College on Tuesday, April 12 where it will take on the Norse in a single game at 3 PM.
