CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's tennis team suffered a narrow 5-4 loss to Luther College on Saturday afternoon at the Clark Racquet Center. The Kohawks and Norse played a near seven-hour match, battling back and forth in all nine matches throughout the day. Coe fell behind in the doubles competition, getting one win from the number-two pairing of Jon Lansing/Alex Palomar, who defeated the Luther pairing 8-7. The Kohawks picked up three early wins in singles at the top two positions and number six thanks to victories from Rami Hemaidan, Jon Lansing and Alex Palomar. Luther then won the next two matches to even the score at four and eventually claimed the dual-winning victory at number five singles. The result moves the Kohawks to 15-8 on the season and 7-1 in the A-R-C while Luther improves to 12-9 and 5-0 in the A-R-C.
