CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team secured a season-ending victory on Tuesday evening at Clark Field, defeating the Simpson College Storm 3-1. The Kohawks, who clinched their first winning season since 2008, scored a pair of goals in the opening half and withstood a comeback effort from Simpson in the second. Coe got the opening goals from

Jack Resado who gave their team a 2-0 lead in a four-minute span midway through the opening half. Simpson responded with a goal just 10 minutes into the second period but a set piece goal from
Jonathan Williams in the 82nd minute gave Coe the victory, it's eighth of the campaign.

- Coe and Simpson both traded shot attempts in the early going but Blake Jungman recorded the lone shot on target that was easily saved. The Kohawks opened the scoring in the 26th minute, capitalizing on a corner opportunity. James Napieralski played a floated ball into the box to Kevin Williams who gave his team the lead with a strong header. Coe quickly made it 2-0 in the 30th minute, finishing off a strong team attacking move with a goal from Jack Resado. Resado benefited from a pair of assists on the play as Sebastian Pena and Kevin Williams linked up to help put their team up two. The Storm quickly got back into the contest in the second period, halving the deficit with a goal from their own corner kick in the 55th minute. Coe settled back in after the goal and regained dominance in the match. Coe put the game away for good in the 82nd minute from a set piece as Jonathan Williams scored a beautifully placed free kick to make it 3-1.
