LINCOLN, Neb. - The Coe College volleyball team suffered its first A-R-C defeat of the 2023 season on Friday evening, falling 3-0 on the road at Nebraska Wesleyan. The Kohawks were out-hit by the Prairie Wolves in the defeat, hitting just .118 to NWU's .243. The hosts jumped ahead in the opening set and never looked back, increasing their offensive output throughout the victory.

GAME FACTS
- NWU quickly grabbed a lead in the match, defeating Coe 25-18 in the opening set. NWU started strong and used a 6-2 run midway through the period to separate from the Kohawks. The Prairie Wolves began the second set much like they finished the first, scoring five-straight to open the frame. Coe fought back into touching distance at 5-3 but again NWU got a dominant six-point run to regain a comfortable lead which it held on to despite a late Kohawk charge. The Prairie Wolves had their best attacking performance of the match in the final set, hitting .414 with 16 kills and just four errors. The hosts built an early 11-3 lead and never looked back, handing Coe its first league loss in 12 matches.
Up next: The Kohawks round out their weekend road trip tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM, taking on Buena Vista in Storm Lake.
