CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's tennis team earned its fourth-straight win on Friday afternoon at the Clark Racquet Center, defeating the Simpson College Storm 7-2. Coe got the upper hand in doubles play, winning matches at number one and number two to slightly edge the visitors.
Maddie Schultz and
Chloe Palmer secured an 8-4 victory at number one while
Jania Carter-Johnson and
Carlie Miller picked up an 8-1 decision at number two. The Kohawks went on to win five of six singles matches to lock up the victory, dropping the lone match in a three-set tiebreaker. Schultz was Coe's lone player to earn two wins on the day but was joined by
Sophia Fain, Maria Bello Escobar, Courtney Carstensen and
Jaden Fuqua as they all won their respective singles matches.
Up next: Coe concludes its fall regular season tomorrow morning at 11 AM, hosting Central College at the Clark Racquet Center.
