ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Coe College volleyball team dropped its regular season finale on Saturday morning at Augustana, falling 3-0 to the Vikings. The Kohawks, who had their six-game winning streak snapped, hit .239 as a team but saw their opponents rack up 49 kills and just 15 errors. The hosts took the opening set 25-16 before a 25-20 win in the second period. The Vikings then completed the sweep with a 26-24 victory in the third, hitting .405 to edge the Kohawks.

GAME FACTS
- Coe held an early 4-1 lead but the hosts answered with a strong run, scoring 11 of the next 13 points to gain momentum. The Kohawks fought back and trimmed the deficit to just one at 12-11 however Augustana closed the match with six-straight points to take the opener. Coe and Augie went back and forth in the second frame, trading big runs but the a four-point run gave Coe an 11-10 advantage. The Kohawks extended the lead to 18-15 late in the set but again Augustana dominated the final few points, scoring 10 of the final 12 to grab a 2-0 advantage. It was another competitive set in the third as both teams hit well over .300 but Augustana used a handful of multi-point runs to grab momentum and complete the sweep.
Up next: Coe, the third seed in the A-R-C tournament, begins the postseason on Tuesday, November 7, hosting sixth-seeded Loras at Kohawk Arena at 7 PM.
