Women’s Tennis Celebrates Senior Day in Style

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's tennis team sent off lone senior Emma Lassen with a dominant 8-1 victory over St. Ambrose on Saturday morning at Clark Racquet Center. The Kohawks got off to a strong start in doubles, winning all three matches despite being tested throughout. Claudia Bilkey and Lassen picked up a narrow 8-6 win at number one doubles while Courtney Carstensen and Madison Schultz and Jania Carter-Johnson and Jaden Fuqua handled business with relative ease, earning 8-4 and 8-3 decisions. The Kohawks dominated singles play to wrap up the victory, winning five matches, four of which came in straight sets. With the win, Coe improves to 12-6 overall while St. Ambrose drops to 5-12.
